The Journey Continues
This part will continue on the sights that were experienced in Japan on a boiling summer day towards the end of the trip. The day began at Tsujiki Market, viewing the activities that are undertaken in the busy market, followed by some shopping in the Ginza district. A short detour to the Tokyo Skytree and then a final trip back to Shinjuku to grab some good food and street photography around Golden Gai.

Tsukiji (築地)

Walking out of the train station and into the boiling heat

Shop employees standing in the shade (well some of them) beckoning for visitors to visit their establishment

The Shop Owner

A heavy load

Intense concentration

Coming from Australia, it was a huge culture shock to see fruits being sold at such exorbitant amounts. But then I guess, you can't get a square watermelon everywhere!

A quick trip to the wet market area of Tsukiji Market. It was already in the late morning when we arrived and most of the vendors had already completed their trade for the day. Nonetheless, the way the sunlight pierced through the roof along with the dim lights within the market area created some very interesting photographic compositions.

You can imagine how busy this area can be in the early morning

Although there were signs discouraging photography posted up everywhere, I believe that those signs mainly applied during peak trading periods where people taking photos could get in the way of business being done. In the late morning when most of the trade had died down, nobody bothered me as I snapped away.

Ginza (銀座)

The main road through the center of the district was closed to road traffic and turned into a massive pedestrian thoroughfare

Wall of buildings stretches forever

Intense text messaging

Mind the gap

Tokyo Skytree

After viewing the tower from afar over the past few days, it was long overdue that I actually got to see the building right at its' base

Shinjuku  (新宿) (Part 3)
Revisiting Shinjuku for the third and last time, I was aiming to visit the famed Golden Gai, a part of Shinjuku that is distinctively older and quieter. In order to get there, a quick detour through the Kabukicho (歌舞伎町) district was warranted.

Where to go next?

Waiting in traffic

Never mind the bollocks

Staying together

I found the pattern of pipes on the side of the building very pleasing to look at

Look into the glowy light

People living their own life, never to be met again

That concludes the fifth part of this trip report. Thanks for making it this far! One final part to go!
